LIIAR analysis of College Magazine Covers

L - image of student medium close up shot, dressed casually smiling, healthy and young looking.  suggests that students who go to the college are happy there, enjoy their time there. Colours are consistent. Suggests that students at the college are allowed to be themselves
I - shows that the college promotes health and happiness. Good representation of the students of the college.  Gives good impression of the college.
I - The college is the institution but also the magazine.  House-style. Linked to representation and audience.
A - College students are targetted because a people of college age is on the front.
R - How the students and college are represented; healthy, happy, ready to learn (books in hand) 

The Brief

Preliminary Exercise: Using DTP and an image manipulation programme, produce the front page of a new school/college magazine, featuring a photograph of a student in a medium close-up plus appropriately laid-out text and a masthead.  Additionally you must produce a mock-up of the layout of the contents page to demonstrate their grasp of DTP.
